One of the many things we enjoy together is watching movies. We are one movie crazy couple and there's rarely any big release that we miss. In fact, my doc already has a to-watch list of movies releasing this year. Yeah, that's how big movie buffs we are.

So while movies do make up a big part of our entertainment, the only thing I need while watching a movie is... POPCORN!!!

It's very simple. I need a bag of popcorn to enjoy a good movie with and I need a bag of popcorn to tolerate a nonsensical movie!

Each time we go for a movie, I ensure a less hearty meal for myself lest I have no appetite for popcorn. Yes, it's like that with me. My doc only smiles when I rush to the popcorn counter to get a bag before a movie begins. No, I can never wait for the interval.

So this time, it was the same. While he went and took our seats, I rushed to get popcorn for myself. And of course, there's always a diet Coke or a coffee for my doc on the tray I carry inside the theater.

As the movie rolled, I got busy munching my popcorn and occasionally offered it to my doc, which he refused politely each time.

At one point, I tried to coerce him into having some popcorn. And this time, he raised his hand and stated, "It is not that I don't want to eat popcorn or I don't like it, It's that I DISLIKE popcorn."

I stared at him in disbelief. Instantly, I withdrew the popcorn tub, happy that I had it all to myself, and a little amazed at the straight words I had just heard!

So yes, even after years of courtship and a few months into marriage, there still are things we are discovering. The latest one being - he DISLIKES popcorn while I have always loved them!

Now that makes me wonder what kept him from telling me this for such a long time. Before you smirk, I am a typical wife trying to make out more than what's meant from my husband's statement :D

Happy Wednesday, blogdosts :)

It's been such a long time! And no, I haven't forgotten either this space nor all my blogdosts. But then, with so much happening around, I needed this space :)

We have shifted! And yes, it's been a big change for me. Having lived all by myself in one part of the city to now living in a different part is a baffling experience. Settling down is a process which is in process. The best part of it all is getting to decorate our new home and I am loving it!!!

Coming to decorating our home, the last month has been all about pictures, decorations, curtains, flowers, vases, lamps et all. Every time I'd go quiet sitting in our living room and my doc would ask, 'So what's going on in your mind now? Color of the curtains or size of the portrait?' He literally laughs at me and calls me his interior decorator' and that I have an OCD! He says I am going crazy with the number of pictures I am putting around the house. And you know what - I still have plenty of blank photo frames in the cupboard. I'd rather wait to display them all before he loses it :D

There has been another life-turning event for me this month. I have quit full-time job! Now, this was real big for me. When I left my hometown, all I was looking for was a great career. Gave over 8 years to it and now when I look back, it's been a very satisfying journey. Taking a voluntary retirement at 28 is something, folks!!! (Ohh yes, I have plans as to what next; will leave those for another post)

On the other hand, I have got down to some serious studies. Have a few exams for my last semester of a course I am pursuing. And blogdosts, I tell you - studying full time after so many years feels pretty good :)

One of the many problems that marriage has solved for me is about cooking. I had been living by myself for many years and you know how lazy I had been when it came to cooking for myself. Now come on, who likes to cook for their self alone?? At least, I couldn't. So yes, now I cook for us and it's fun. And it gets even better on moments like when after having home-made pizza, doc declared that he will never go out for a pizza! Honestly, if you don't want to cook for your self only, get married. But make sure you find someone who likes your cooking; else, don't say I didn't warn you. ;)

So yes, life is changed. And it's been beautiful. :)

So tell me, blogdosts, how have you all been? I am here for good now and you will see a lot more of me regularly. Thank you for putting up with me. I will get to your comments soon and your blogs too :)

Till then, take care and stay precious :)

Nowadays everyone keeps asking, "So, how's the change?"

And I am like, "Huh, what change?"

"Now you are married, so life must not be as carefree. You have responsibilities now."

At this, I want to turn and give it back to the person. For with this statement, he/she offends most the independent spirit in me. Call me whatever, but I do not agree that an unmarried person is in any way less responsible than a married one.

Yes, there are additions in life; a person, a family. And more than added responsibility, it's the added happiness and joy.

Any relationship has its give and take and the same is applicable in case of husband and wife. With your parents and siblings, you become accustomed as you grow up together. Similarly, you grow older with your spouse and with time, you get to know, understand and even tolerate [:)] the other more .

Okay, so I am not here to give gyaan on all this. I am too amateur yet and will take another decade to write on how to make your marriage successful.

Coming back to my point, a single person is not irresponsible. And if a person has stayed single for longer than most, then, for me, that person is more responsible than others might (might not) think them to be. Responsibility does not only encompass spouse and his/her family. It is more about oneself and family. The rest come in later which only accentuate that virtue in you.

I have lived and worked as a single woman for over 8 years and never once have questioned my responsibility towards myself or my family. I am proud of every decision I have taken in life and marriage has added to the dimension with which I look at life and relationships, not changed them.

It's not changed the person in me. I am definitely happier and more secured now. But yet again, I am the same person. I am equally independent and responsible as I was premarriage.

Call it a rant; I'd rather keep quiet than reply to the jerks who treat me responsible only now! And this is my personal space where I can rant, right, blogdosts?

Blogdosts, I know the post is so unlike me. I am tired of these questions. I mean, how can I become something overnight? Even if a change happens, that takes time to become apparent. For now, I am happy the way things are and my Doc will surely say the same :)

More soon. Take care and stay precious :)
